In order to optimize profile sanding, most profiles should have the wheel tilted to minimize the depth the profile goes into the wheel, and to keep the abrasive as flat as possible on the wheel.

Our family of 360s can tilt either forward or backward to achieve this. It also has a simple, stationary, rigid, but removable fence, and features both vertical and horizontal spindle adjustment from the front of the machine. Horizontal spindle adjustment allows the operator to quickly make fine adjustments of sanding pressure without moving the fence. Tilt changes are easily made utilizing a crank and easy to read scale. They use an AC inverter for variable speed on the direct drive motor. The inverter provides precise speed control with it’s display showing spindle RPM. The only difference between models is input voltage.

Pillar Machine LARICK 360 Profile Sander – Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Pillar Machine LARICK 360 Profile Sander?

The LARICK 360 Profile Sander is an American-made industrial sanding machine designed for precision sanding of contoured workpieces, cabinet doors, mouldings, architectural components, and other shaped wood parts requiring high-quality surface finish before stain or paint.

Is the LARICK 360 made in America?

Yes. The LARICK 360 Profile Sander is manufactured in the United States by Pillar Machine, offering superior build quality, robust construction, and fast access to domestic parts and service support compared to imported alternatives.

What types of profiles can the LARICK 360 sand?

This machine is engineered to sand a wide range of contoured profiles including cabinet door edges, traditional mouldings, custom architectural shapes, and other detailed wood components with consistency and repeatability.

Who should use the LARICK 360 Profile Sander?

Cabinet manufacturers, architectural millwork shops, door shops, custom woodworking facilities, and production wood shops that require high-precision profile sanding with reduced hand sanding and consistent finish quality.

How does the LARICK 360 improve sanding consistency?

By mechanically following contours and applying consistent pressure, the LARICK 360 eliminates the variability inherent in hand sanding, delivering uniform surface texture and finish quality across large production runs.

Is the LARICK 360 suitable for production environments?

Yes. Built with industrial components and an American-manufactured structural frame, the LARICK 360 is appropriate for continuous use in demanding shop environments where reliability and uptime matter.

What materials can the LARICK 360 process?

The machine is compatible with solid hardwoods, softwoods, MDF, plywood, and composite mouldings typically found in cabinetry and architectural millwork production.

Does the LARICK 360 reduce hand sanding?

Yes. It significantly reduces the amount of manual sanding required after shaping, improving throughput and lowering labor costs.

How does American manufacturing benefit long-term ownership?

American-built machines typically provide stronger structural integrity, higher quality control, and faster access to replacement parts and technical support, helping reduce downtime and total cost of ownership.

Does the LARICK 360 improve finish preparation?

Yes. Its consistent sanding action creates a smooth surface profile that improves absorbency and appearance for stain, paint, or topcoat applications.

Is the machine easy to maintain?

Yes. Routine service points such as sanding belt changes, bearing checks, and dust port inspection are designed for accessibility to minimize service time.

How does the LARICK 360 support dust collection?

With properly connected dust collection, this machine helps manage airborne particulates and maintains a cleaner workspace, improving both safety and housekeeping.

Does the LARICK 360 handle custom profiles?

Yes. With the appropriate tooling and setup, the machine can accommodate a range of custom and specialty contours in production workflows.

How does the LARICK 360 compare to flat belt sanders?

Flat belt sanders are optimized for planar surfaces; the LARICK 360 is purpose-built to follow contours, delivering uniform sanding results on shaped parts where flat machines cannot maintain profile accuracy.

Can the LARICK 360 increase throughput?

Yes. By automating profile sanding and reducing the need for hand finishing, it increases part output and throughput without sacrificing quality.

What safety features are included?

The machine includes guarding, emergency stop functionality, and dust ports designed to be used with extraction systems to promote safer operation when proper PPE is worn.

How does the LARICK 360 improve labor utilization?

By mechanizing the sanding of profiles, skilled operators can focus on higher-value tasks while the machine handles consistent contour sanding with reduced fatigue.

Is the LARICK 360 a good investment for growing shops?

Yes. Its combination of American-made durability, consistent finish quality, and reduced labor requirements makes it a valuable production asset for expanding operations.
